The Truth About Campus Court.. TERRIBLE

I was at first excited to live in campus court but my parents and I immediately regretted signing the lease before I even moved in. First off as the other reviews posted the move in date was pushed back. When the office decided to switch the move in date my roommates and I were not even contacted, I had to call them to confirm that it was true. There is hardly any parking and absolutely no guest parking. If you weren't back at the apartment by at least six the chances of finding a parking spot were slim to none and any visitor will be towed. They told us if the lot was full that the residents had to park in Lawson Ice Arena which is inconvenient but fine during the day, but I have late classes and do not feel comfortable walking on an unlit path through the woods after dark. It just isn't safe. When I confronted them about this, their advice was to have our roomate come out and watch us, or pick us up from Lawson in their car (which in turn they would loose their spot in Campus Court). Also, visitors may be towed at Lawson during the day by Westerns parking service.
If I or any of my roommates had a maintenance problem or needed to call the office to ask a question, it was very difficult to get an employee to pick up the phone. I had to call about a question at least 5 times within three hours. I eventually went in because of no answer and I walked into five employees in the office sitting, talking to each other, and two of the employees on facebook. The best part was that while I was in there a phone rang and an employee walked right past it, I immediately confronted them and complained. It was terrible service and very unprofessional.
All of my roommates got notices that we were being evicted. They said we should seek legal advice and we were due in court. They sent us a sheet of paper claiming that everyone in the apartment didn't pay rent for four months in a row, when we had paid it on time, every month. We immediately went in there and was directed toward a really rude employee who made it seem like it was our problem. I also had a roomate that was at home when we recieved the notice. I asked her if they would contact her with this information and they refused saying that it was not their responsibility. Her lawyer had called many times with no return call. Before blowing us off they told us that we needed to dig up all of our rent checks for each month, when they should have had records on hand for those months. If we pay the rent it is their responsibility to keep track, not ours and also there must have been a better way to solve their mistake rather then sending out eviction notices to get us to come in the office. I even asked if I could see my records for my rent checks and they claimed they didn't have them on hand, and would have to go through all the checks to find them. They are beyond lazy and instead of doing their jobs they just sent us an eviction notice and made us do their work. Everything was solved after we showed every months check. I just hope there isn't another notice after we move out claiming we didn't pay or my parents will again have to contact their lawyer. I just want to be done with this place. What a hassel!
There have been many unpleasant experiences at campus court that I have heard about and had to encounter. I am currently going through another issue with the office, of course. Happily I can say that I am moving out this month into a different complex. Personally, I believe any apartment at Western is better then Campus Court because they are not organized, very unprofessional, and do not make their residents a priority. I expect more people would have resigned their lease if there wasn't terrible customer service, more then one parking space per apartment, and if they didn't raise the rent this year to an unreasonable price for college students.
P.S. If you are signing with campus court. 1) good luck 2) ALWAYS deadbolt your front door, I have had people come in using a credit card and unlocked it.

everything i am reading in this review matches up to the problems we have. When she said no one returns calls that is totally correct. Oh and before moving in check to see if you are paying the correct consumers power bill. Ask to check to see if your meter is conected to your apt. You can do this by finding your meter which is locked up shot the power off in our apt from the power box and make sure when you go look at the meter that the meter has stopped. They claimed people did not receive bills for 6 months because they had non licenced contrators install the meters. Consumers is the only one who should have touched therefore the wrong meters were going to the wrong units. Students in turn were hit for thousand dollar consumer bills. It was a violation for them to have someone other than consumers install the meters. Watch out for sewer backups and if it rains you might get flooded. Good luck!!!1

Yes I completely agree with that comment also, and everything the author is saying I have also experienced and worse. I believe the author is very honest and completely accurate with the overall opinions of the residents. I was sent and paid every consumers bill and then for three months out of the year I received an outrageous bill. It took many days on my part to solve when I should have been focused on my education. I was also sent an eviction notice for missed rent when it was inaccurate. The office is very inconsiderate and instead of being a help to the residence, they are nothing but an inconvenience. Also they broke contract when they pushed the move in date back, and are now making us pay a full months rent of August when we will be living there for only 15 days out of this month. It is a rip off. Don??t even bother having visitors unless they want to be towed. My car was also vandalized in the parking lot which cost $400 dollars to repair. They claimed they had security cameras installed and also sent out a flyer about it but that was just another falsification in their promotions. I have lived at many apartments and I can say for the first time that I was deeply disappointed here. I assumed that I was paying more here for a better apartment and a friendly environment but all I??m left with is a bad experience and a lot of wasted money. I will never live here again and I recommend anyone who wants to too read this review and sign with someone else. It will save you a lot of money, better amenities, and you will have an overall better experience. Best of luck.
