Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
My husband and I lived here for a little over a year. We were originally attracted to the place because of the size of the 2 bedroom apartment. Also I liked the fact that there were two pools and that they allowed pets. Needless to say as time went on and winter came we noticed that frost and ice would cover the edges of the slider doors and windows. When I was cleaning up the damp mess I looked closely at the window and it was dated 1976! The seals on the windows needed to be fixed. The most disgusting part of it all was that we found MOLD in areas around the windowsill. The Bathtubs are SMALL unless you?re an 90lb anorexic you wont be able to have a nice bath , because you wont fit!
Come the summer time the grounds were arid and nasty looking. The grass was all yellow and brown. The so-called playground is old and outdated. I wonder if its made of the formaldehyde treated wood'
The next gripe I have to do with the pools. First of all ,they were always cloudy and a majority of the time you could not see the bottom, and if you know anything about pools you know one of the cardinal rules is ?if you cant see the bottom, don?t swim!?
Also one of the rules is that residents can have up to 2 guests join them at the pool. They point that out to you(when you move in) and is stated on prominently placed sign. WELL! I lived in an apartment directly across from the far pool. And one day while I was sitting on my balcony I saw a ratty looking van pull in and about 7 hood-rats jumped out and they headed for the pool. At the time I thought to myself ?someone must be having a birthday party..? then I started seeing them about every other day! And they were not the only offenders! Being 7 months pregnant at the time I just broke down and went to the pool one day. Then ?THEY? came! They were loud and rude and hogged the pool. Thankfully I know how to swim so I stayed in the deep end to avoid the whole bunch.
Finally I went to the office to complain and they said I was not the only one. They never did anything about it. I even took photos of the licenses plates. When it came time move out I wrote them a letter and gave them a CD with photos of the mold and the pool hogs and told them ?im gonna get out of here, and not make a fuss?
Needless to say I got my Deposit back in full despite the fact that my dog tore up the bathroom.
Positive things::::
Nice neighbors
No parking problems
They have a drawing every month to win free rent( and we won)
Small gym is OK
Lots of playmates for daughter
Close to shopping
