Some Perks, Ghastly Management, Grossly Understaffed.

As I write this, I am looking at a sea of dishes cluttering my countertop. After numerous phone calls and a trip to the office, our dishwasher has not yet been fixed. It has been four weeks since we placed the first call and nobody from the office has called nor has any maintenance worker stopped by.

Bottom line - if you want ANYTHING done in this place, you'll have to do it yourself. I was ready to go downstairs and clean the pool out (they did not open it until June 24 or thereabouts). You'll have to dig your car out of the snow as well; salt is NEVER put down & the parking lot is an icy, slippery mess in the winter. Snow is always knee-deep on the sidewalks and usually in the parking lots as well. I fell TWICE last year and filed a complaint with the office. Was it heeded' Of course not. My fiance had to call his friend to come over and pull his car out of the snow one morning because it was so deep he could not back out of his parking spot.
The trash area is always a disgusting mess - a single compactor for 200 units, are you serious'! Consequently, it is almost ALWAYS overflowing. Management is nowhere to be found when something is broken, but if it's a fine they're gonna be collecting, man, are they on top of it! Yes, they will charge you if your garbage is not put in the compactor. But who the hell wants to wade through broken glass and rotten food to try squeezing their trash into that disgusting thing' The grounds are usually a mess as well - people do not clean up after their dogs and there is not enough maintenance staff to keep the place manicured.

It's a pity the place is managed so horribly, because the apartments are a great size, soundly constructed (for the most part) with large closets and ample storage space. We've got a small fitness center, a tanning bed and nice balconies as well. I've yet to have any major trouble with my neighbors, but the kids and dogs can be rather loud and obnoxious at times, but hey, that's what kids and dogs do. The rent mysteriously keeps rising - it seems there are always extra charges, which the management tacks on without any explanation as to what they are for or why we owe them. Plus, the internet provider is AT&T, which as a rule, is awful.

I would re-sign the lease in a heartbeat if this complex changed hands. Herman & Kittle obviously does not give a flying f*** about their tenants.
