I have only had problems living in the Centre. For starters, when we had a room mate fall through we had a random person thrown in with us that we don't get along with at all. Secondly, the insulation is horrible. It is like the walls are made of cardboard. Our heating bill is $400 a month and we keep our town house at 55 degrees. Downstairs it is freezing and upstairs it is like 70 degrees. Thirdly, I had a ton of stuff stolen ($600 worth) from my room over thanksgiving break and the Centre tried to blame the theft on us instead of admitting that security should have been watching for burglars since everyone was at home for the holidays. They did absolutely nothing to make us feel like we were safe or that it wouldn't happen again. Whenever I leave for the weekend I now take everything valuable with me because I don't feel like it is safe to leave anything there. Fourthly, I was misled about when rent was due, and my roommates and I were told by several employees the same thing and they changed what they had told us and made me pay a late fee. Fifthly, the shuttle. One of the reasons I signed at the Centre was so I didn't have to buy a parking pass- the shuttle was sold to me like it was reliable and I wouldn't need one. However, the shuttle is not reliable. For about two weeks this year it wasn't working and I had to find rides to all my classes while it was blizzarding out, not fun. It is also hard to work with anyone in the office because they are all students and no one seems to know what they are doing- I have never seen a manager in the office. Also, when we moved in our apartment it hadn't been cleaned since the last residents had moved out. Apparently they 'accidently' skipped it. The dishwaser was growing mold, they sent a crew to clean a kitchen but never compensated for anything else, our apartment has yet to be fully cleaned since the last residents who lived there who obviously had many parties. Amenities are nice, but all and all this is a horrible place to live. I'm not looking forward to the next six months that I have to live there because I can only imagine the further troubles that we have to come.
