I lived at Concord for two years while I was in school, one of those years living by myself in a one bedroom. It was affordable for middle-class students like myself, and though not perfect, for the price it can't be beat. Maintenance was quick and usually very nice, my appliances in one apartment were brand new as well as the floor, and they always showed my place before I signed my lease, which I felt was important. I did not feel threatened at any time, but did keep my doors locked for safety. Overall, if you want to live off campus for cheap and aren't too picky, this would work out okay for you.
