This place had its pros and cons, as all places do. And, ignorance was bliss when I was living here.

These apartments are the cheapest in the area, but you have to be wary because of the crowd that low rent attracts. There are no security doors at all - anyone can walk right up to your apartment entrance and there is only a deadbolt lock. I didn't feel very secure with that. I found out after I moved that there are swarms of sex offenders living in this complex. People drive extremely fast as well. I believe I lived in one of the better buildings, closer to the front of the complex - mainly college kids. Walls are paper thin too, so you could hear people trucking up the steps and doing EVERYTHING in their own apartment - going to the bathroom, sneezing, having sex, etc.

The apartment itself was good. We had the good fortune of getting new carpet, only minor reasons to call mainetance. And we NEVER put on our heat, living on the second floor, b/c the heat from the first and third floors warmed our place - so insulation was horrible, but worked well for us.

None of this happened near my building, but there would regularly be police cars, day and night, seemingly arresting people at times, so I'm assuming drugs are an issue at this complex as well.

Just have to remember that cheap, cheap rent will bring in some pretty scary people. Plus, I found out when I moved that the 7-11 down the street had gotten robbed a number of times. These apartments are literally down the street from Western, but so are other complexes that may be more secure. I definately wouldn't recommend this place to a single woman living on her own or with kids. And I wouldn't walk around at night, with or without someone else. I hope this helps.
