There's a reason why its so cheap

I lived all the way in the back, so I didn't feel as threatened as some others and never had anything broken into. I had a friend who lived in front and she had to keep her door locked at all times, because strangers would just walk in otherwise. There were at least 2 occasions when I couldn't get into the complex because all of the entrances were blocked by police. Apparently one time a guy was being held hostage in his apartment.

The biggest problem that I had was with the loud neighbors. I had a first floor apartment, so my windows were level with the headlights of cars parked in front of the building. My upstairs neighbors blasted music all hours of the day and night, and they sold drugs, so there were constantly cars pulling up also blaring music and leaving the car running while the driver ran upstairs. The headlights would light up my entire apartment.

In the lease it says that after 3 complaints, your lease will be terminated, but I made 5 written and numerous phone complaints and nothing ever happened, other than the neighbor's girlfriend threatening to beat me up.

The next biggest problem is the water. I never had any problems with the pressure or getting hot water, just that you had to run it for at least 1/2 hr. to get it to not be yellow. This made it impossible to use the laundry rooms, because everything would just be ruined. When the apartment complex behind Concord was being built, I would often have mud come out of the flaucets. I was told by the office that nothing could be done to prevent this.

While maintenance would almost always come the same day and they were all really nice, they typically had no idea what they were doing. When I moved in, the metal part of the magnet was missing from the medicine cabinet. Their solution was to glue a washer to the door. When this fell off a few months later, they just reglued it. This continued for 2 yrs. until they finally got the correct part, right before I moved out. Maintenance also walked into my apartment several times while I was asleep.

When I signed the lease, I was told that they did not have security, but they do. The security is pointless though. My neighbors were the ones setting off bottle rockets everynight, and it scared me so much that I drove around until I found the security and they told me that they wouldn't do anything about it, because it was keeping them "occupied" and they could be doing worse.

The office staff was always pleasant, but not terribly helpful. They "lost" a package containg my graduation announcements for almost 6 weeks. The pool was always crowded, dirty, and filled with creepy guys.

Overall, the apartments themselves were decent sized with huge closests. There were about 6 inches of paint on the wall, but the carpet was new. If you never had to leave your apartment and lived in the building alone, they would be a great deal, but that's not going to happen.
