I lived in Concord while attending Western, and think I should voice my opinion.

The process to move in was quite easy, they called me back to inform me I had been approved (which I have yet to have repeated, 4 apartments later). The apartment I got had new carpet, a fairly new bathroom and fresh paint.

The staff there was rather friendly, even when I lost my cat (they have a no pets policy). Maintainence I think does a great job. Speed is somewhat of an issue as (I think) they are understaffed, but any work they did didn't leave messes, and I was always notified.

Twice, in the entire stay, I had to leave the apartment because fo the fire alarm. Once, at around 3 am was because a kid decided it would be a fun thing to do, and pulled the alarm. The other time, one of the buildings across the complex burnt to the ground (renters fault, not Concord).

Other reviews mention a few things, like sex offenders and drug dealers. This is rather opinionated, and does not reflect any official policy that they have, but I'll say it anyway.

The number of sex offenders in the area is slightly high, but during my stay of 3 years ,there was not a single sex offense on Concord's property. The fact that someone is labled a sex offender does not make them unsafe (per se) and the rate of crime in the area is still about average.

I also never saw a single public drug deal go down, thogh on one occasion, I did see my neigbor arrested for possession of weed.

It is a statement to the police and the Concord security. When the police DID have to show up, they handled the situation without incident, and as soon as they do what they came to do, they left. That, in my opinion makes the property BETTER, knowing the police do their JOBS.

When we moved out, we had some minor damage (the towel bars in the bathroom pop out too easily) but concord was quick and fair about listing out the damages, and the prices they charge were reasonable.

The ONLY complaint I have about Concord is afterwards, when I tried to pay my rent from terminating the lease early. I met my wife in COncord, and when we married, I took her last name. Concord sent my payments back to me on several occasions, claiming the debt had been paid in full. However, I later got a collection notice from them. THe problem was they had looked into my wife's file because of the name, and didn't bother to check the apartment number written on the check. Concord pulled this debt back from collections when they realized the error, but had no recourse for the damage done to my credit because of their collections attempts.
