worst apartment EVER

I've lived here nearly a year and I cannot wait to get out! As soon as we moved in I noticed the wall above the slider door was leaking. The maintenance guy came down to fix it and told me all the wood was rotted through and it was more serious than he thought. He ripped the drywall down and said he would be back to finish it that same day. He never returned. Doesn't even work here anymore. The big ugly hole in my wall remains however.
One of the newer maintenance guys seems nice, the other is a weirdo and never understands why I don't want anyone in my apartment when I'm not home. His wife was recently arrested from his apartment upstairs. Yes, please, steal my stuff for your crackhead wife to sell.
When it rains this wall leaks terribly, to the point where parts of it just crumble off. I've started collecting these chunks of wall and bringing them to the office. I'll admit, one girl there seems genuinely concerned with the state of the apts. but that doesn't mean anything gets done. At least she's smiling when she's telling me AGAIN that she'll send someone over. I have a kid and I don't want him exposed to mold, or the subpar outdoor standards, or the out of date balcony railing that I'm scared might just fall right off the building.
I also had a small fireball shoot out of my outlet once. The guy that came to fix it didn't reassure me in any way that he knew what he was doing. He shocked himself a few times while he worked and sorta put the faceplate back on and ran when he was done. We just don't use this outlet anymore.
Just this past weekend my neighbor caught his kitchen on fire. Now, this neighbor lives on the same floor, RIGHT next to me. I didn't even know the place was on fire till I saw the firemen running through the courtyard! No smoke detectors or anything went off. We didn't smell the smoke until right after seeing the firemen and by then the hallway was full of smoke. No smoke detectors that work'' Anywhere'' We couldn't sleep there that night because everything smelled like burning plastic.
I won't even get into security issues since I still live here and don't want to make it any easier for my things to be stolen.
Take my advice, do not move here. That sweet face in the office is the only one you'll see. They don't fix things, they lie to your face that they are working on it, and continue to bump up rent. It's not worth the money. I personally wouldn't live here again if it were FREE. Don't compromise your personal safety to save a few bucks.
