Shortly, I am going to return to Kalamazoo for three months. I decided to search for ratings of apartments instead of choosing Drake's from convenience. I stayed twice from 2002 to 2004. I see other people's posts of complaints, they are similar to my findings. The manager and staff know the law to the letter, and use it to bilk tenants of their last dollars. Worst is the paint and nail fee mentioned by another tenant. Now, they tack on water fees! They never worked out the errors with electric meter readings. You get charged to pay for previous owners use, and the apartment's empty time. Drake's Pond was once thought to be great in Kalamazoo. Now, all they can offer tenants is nice amenities: But if you don't need an indoor heated pool, a weight/exercise room, or "free" donuts in the AM, there is NO REASON TO STAY HERE! Maintenance is poor: the maintenance staff switched broken parts with another apartment(occupied next week!) to get my washer working, the outside building door never locked(NO security!), the fridge was warm. There were continual parking problems.

Drakes Pond will do everything in their power to milk your last dollar, and yet will take WEEKS to fix a simple problem. Don't live here!
