First off let me say that when I first moved in they were very nice and accomidating. And Yes Gary the maint supv seems to be the only guy with his head out of his armpit. If he fixes it it is done right the first time. Shauna is ok as well. There is a few of the other girls that just are plain rude especially the girl with the glasses. The apts are definalty older. The only reason the office and clubhouse is new looking is because the original one burned down several years back. After saying that you would think they would take a proactive approach to Fire safety, but that is not the case. The extingushers in the apts are old as the buildings and the ones in the hallways are mostly missing or only on one floor and not all three. Mosrt of the cabinets are empty so I guess when there is a fire you just have to run between all three floors to find one. Also the hot water heaters and furnaces/ac units are junk and old. They are not efficent at all very high untility bills. Also the Washer and Dryers are junk junk... they ruin clothes and take forever to dry. The plumbing is terrible as well the toilets and tunbs are always clogged and my pipes leaked on several occasions also. I agree with others about the carpet and my feling is unless you damage it beyond normal use that should be a cost of doing business. The carpet they use is cheaply made and if they are paying what they claim for it they need to shop around more, ont get me wrong no complex is perfect and renters are not perfect either but Drakes needs to be mroe relistic they are not Luxery apts anymore. Oh and the potholes in the rear are terrible and they dont have security either just a "convenince" officer whos not always available. For the rent they charge they should have security. I know of at least 15 apts that were broken into myself in the last 6mo as well and that isnt counting cars. They need to focus on preventitive maint more, and customer service. And if they do market surveys as they claim to I would sure like to know where they are calling. The surrounding comparable complexes are all at least 300 or more less. They will not work with you either if you have rent problems its either all or nothing which says all we care about is our money not our renters. They prey on the elderly and students who dont know better also. And as for the deposit company they use "Sure Deposit" that is not all they say either it is only a company who will take your money and pay Drakes what they file a cliam for when u move out then Sure comes after the tenant to pay what Drakes claimed. So its not a Ins policy as Drakes claims at all. Overall I would not reccomend Drakes unless some major changes are made. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq

Again, I really don't know what to say. The only thing that I know for sure is that I have not heard 15 breakins in the past 6 months. We did have a situation where 2 apartments were broken into in one night, but I need to say that another resident let the thief in and then though she was suspicious, she did not call police. When I spoke to the police, they again said that this happens all over Kalamazoo and the closer to campus the worse it gets. As soon as it happened we posted all the doors to let residents know not to EVER buzz the door for anyone they do not know. The other thing in this post that stands out is that we are NOT $300 more for our apartments. I can not think of any one bedrooms apartments that are our competition that start at $395, I know that both Summer Ridge and Dover Hills are within $50 of us unless they are running a special. If you are interested in living at Drakes Pond and have any concerns about what you are reading, please stop by and give us a chance to hear your concerns and we will give you a more realistic idea of what you can expect. Thanks!
