bad experience all around

The good things about these apartments is the large spaces, free tanning, washer/dryer, and decent soundproofing, which can make some utility bills much cheaper. Do not let all these things fool you, there are many negatives.
First of all, the parking is an awful and unfair situation. If you even want ONE guest pass you are required to pay $25 for it. The management is desperate to make money from college students in any way possible, from their rediculous towing policies that make it impossible to have more than one person over. When my fiance had my one and only guest pass, a friend came over (during winter break, when NOBODY is around) for about 20 minutes at 7:30 pm and she got towed! There was obviously an abundance of extra spots but yet the towing company showed no mercy. When I confronted Kelly (the manager) about it, she said they never canceled the towing even on breaks. People are so desparate for extra guest passes that my fiance's car got broken into and the pass stolen (but not anything else). I believe that is indicative of a major problem with their parking.
Secondly, my apartment ceiling was leaking for a long time. Every time it rained harder than a drizzle enough water would, drip into my room that it could fill up a large pot. I woke up one morning and a HUGE piece of drywall was hanging down from my bedroom ceiling, with paint chips EVERYWHERE. I called THREE TIMES to get it fixed, and sadly my mother finally called and had some words with Kelly.
They give you a 3 day span of time when they will be "conducting random inspections" of the units in your building" with no specific time given, so you could be in the shower and some random person could be walking into your apartment. It felt like a violation of privacy.
Last, the apartments contracted a flooring company to redo the bathroom and kitchen floors. I had been gone for about 2 weeks after it was completed and I came back to find my bathroom door sitting in the middle of my room, my shower was completely filthy (as I later found out my toilet was placed inside so they could put the floor down), and there were large pieces of scrap metal and screws all over the entire apartment. I was furious when I found out they had used my $400 dyson vaccum as a shop vac as it would not suction properly and the barrel was completely filled with dirt (it was left empty). I demanded Kelly either fix it or replace it or they would be taken to small claims court. She brought it to a vaccum repair shop and they discovered the tubes were entirely clogged with dirt.
Most of the tenants that live there are relatively friendly and respectful, and the maintenance man Johnny is very nice and does a great job. Char in the office (not to be confused with Kelly) is always very helpful and considerate and works as an advocate for students. Kelly is cold and dismissive and can be condecending. There are no problems with bugs and its a pretty safe place to live, although the security door was never locked. I would not reccommend living here if you plan to ever have more than one person over, or if you want your privacy and personal items respected.
