Unfortunately, I will be moving out soon, but Lake Forest has been a great place to live. The entire complex is beautiful. The buildings are very cute -- like blue ski chalets with nice wooden front and back porches. There are winding roads and several lakes on the property with Canadian geese (and babies) during the spring/summer. Lots of greenery and wildlife -- have seen deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and creepy-crawlies (unfortunately). Buildings are well-maintained. Luckily, I've never really had any problems, but the ones that I've had were fixed the next business day. The office staff is awesome -- extremely friendly and helpful. I haven't had problems with college students, but other people have. The complex does border Western Michigan University. Lots of parking available to residents (garages are extra, worth it during the winter), although you many have to walk the equivalent of a few blocks for guest parking during weekends/holidays. All in all, it's been worth the extra expense.
