Going down hill fast!

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2004
I recently moved out of here and I'm pretty glad I got out. When I first moved in back 2000 it was one of the nicer areas and did a good job keeping the younger crowd out. In the past year and a half it was bought by a new property owner and all the changes are for the worse!
They no longer have minimum income requirements so a lot of students are getting two or three to a lease and moving in. Partying on the patios all week long became all too common. And complaining did no good at all.
People speed all over the place treating the parking lot like a drag strip. And if you happen to get one of the units facing the wrong direction, kiss any view of natural lighting goodbye. I didn't notice it at first so I blame myself, but when I started having company over the first comments out of everyone as they walked in: "Gee, it's so dark in here. It's like you live in a cave!"
Don't get me started on the joke they call parking. I think there are maybe 15-20 guest spots for the entire complex' And they are all far from the apartments. Heck, there isn't even enough room for the residents unless you pay for a garage. They told me because I am single I am only now allowed one car instead of the two I've always had. One is a summer use only vehicle.
And they are getting very poor at maintenace issues. I have heard they are hurting for money so they try to drag out any repairs you may need until they get a bunch of the same type. For example, if your dryer breaks they will either take apart one from an empty unit or wait until they get extra broken ones to justify the repair bills.
They also allow dogs, now, which wasn't the case when I moved in. So now some neighbors will walk their dogs and let them poop in your lawn because as one explained to me "why do you care' we don't have to mow it or anything"
With the new policies I would suggest you look elsewhere if you want a quiet place to live that isn't trying to attract a bunch of college students.
