I'm not sure if the management has been writing these reviews but it's all b.s. Yes, it's great sized apartments for a decent price but there are parties in the neighborhood everywhere. Lafayette Street is a block away...one of the largest party streets in Kzoo...of course this is a loud party neighborhood. As far as the noise I guess it depends on who is living around you. Since I've lived here (only since May) I've already had my apartment attempted to be broken into twice, loud parties on all sides of the apartment...so loud I've had to call the police. When my apartment was almost broken into TWICE I spoke to the landlord who simply gave a glazed eye roll. The landlords are a nice and elderly couple...yes, they are very understanding if payments are late and such but they are not as accommadating as they reviews make them to be. These apartments are great for being close to campus and party stores, Y Bar, tanning, is all a block away. Large apartments that include cable and heat. HOWEVER...with all of these great things there are issues which almost over rule what makes these complexes worthwhile. If you move here plan on not being allowed to download music on the internet, play internet games(WOW) because the internet YOU as tenant pays $32.00 a month for is being monitored by their tech guy. If you decide to violate the rule your internet is turned off. This would all be fine if you could just decide to call up another internet provider. Not the case though! After we realized the issue with the internet and how it goes down for days at a time because of a simple storm cloud we tried to install different local service. The landlords monopolize the internet and don't allow other internet providers to install what is needed in order for the tenant to receive service. Parking is also a nightmare. In the building I live in there was 3 apartments out of 4 which were occupied and parking was alright...then it went down from 2 apts out of 4 being occupied and all of a sudden there isnt anymore available parking...its a small parking lot and in the fall they give tenants parking stickers but still nothing is being done for the parking to be monitored so even if you live and pay rent here but someone else has lazy friends crashing on their couch you have to park all the way down the street.
Pros:
Large spacious apartments
Good price
Free cable, laundry, and heat
Close to campus
Cons:
No central AC
No parking or limited parking
Monitored internet activity
Loud party area
Unable to get own internet/cable service from outside providers

Did you not know you were moving into a college town. These apts. are right next to WMU. Did you not think there might be parties? Duh. Yes, you can get your own isp. If I had a bunch of students living in my property I would monitor internet use too. You have to protect all of your tenants from viruses etc. About downloading music... downloading from Itunes etc. is allowed. I think it was the illegal downloading sites (ie. Limewire) that were not allowed. I'm just sayin... There are alot more apts. out there that have a lot stricter rules than Redwood. Geez.
