Great townhouse to rent for the $$

This is a great place to live and I'm reviewing it because the ones posted below don't seem to reflect the experience I've had.

This is a simple no frills group of townhouses. They have full unfinished basements, some with walkouts and/or windows, others without - though that's reflected in the rent cost. The place is very close to Western, yet has nice woods in our back yard that keep it cool and nice for my child to play in. The apartment does allow pets, and evidently the past tenants had dogs that ruined the carpet so ours was brand new. The rooms are larger then what I'd had in the past. The kitchen is VERY small, I've had to move my pantry stuff to the basement area, or hall coat closet. The cupboards are older and have seen their share of wear, but are all functional. When the burner on my stove stopped heating up the maintenance man was there very soon to fix it and it took only 2 minuets. Also when the garbage disposal got clogged he came that day and fixed it quickly. He's a very friendly down to earth guy.

There is noise. There are lots of kids that play in the parking area. They are not excessively loud, they're just being kids, riding bikes etc... The neighbors have non-tenant friends who like to park in front and leave their music blasting for 20-30 min. BUT management will come and make them turn it off, so the few times we've complained they've been good about responding. They even offered to move us if we continued to be bothered by it. After the first week or so, with about 4-5 noise incidents with car music, the problem is basically gone so we're pretty satisfied in that area. I have not heard noise through the walls of the apartment and my neighbors have kids.

The parking is good, fairly close to our door, and although we cannot park in front of our specific place permanently, we can park there to unload our car or clean it out without any issues. Non-tenants are not allowed to park in our parking spots. We can get them a guest pass during the week, or for over the weekend (though the office is closed so one must think in advance). Guest parking is a little walk from our place so having guests visit is a little annoying. There is some parking open to the public that is not far from our apartment for any unexpected guests after office hours, so though it is a hassle sometimes, its doable. The apartment will tow any violators and due to our proximity to Western I'm glad they enforce this. They do have carport parking for an extra fee each month and one can just sign up for it in the winter time if they wish.

For a family with a toddler it was a GREAT place to rent for the cost. Other places that were similar in cost were apartments that didn't have basement storage or close parking, or private entrances.

I don't feel unsafe or see unoccupied teenagers/adults just hanging around staring at women like one person mentioned in a previous review - nor do I find lots of dog poop. :) There are lots of kids in our area, but though they're curious and have come to meet the baby etc..., they're good kids and have been respectful of our plants and patio area.
