got a fungus from the dirty carpet

I am a WMU student who thought that Western Pines was a great deal. I was very wrong! I had to pay a cleaning fee with my deposit. I'm wondering what that money actually went to! The carpet was so stained and dirty that my roommates and I were treated for a foot fungus. Upon complaint to the landlord, we were told too bad! There is a bar directly behind the apartment complex....So, if you like to sleep ever, this probably is not the place for you. The management staff was extremely unprofessional. Our address changed about three times on moving day(after we signed our lease of course) before they could figure out which apartment we belonged to. The place used to be government subsidized housing and the apartments/appliances have not been renovated since the 1970s. In the duration of a year, our stove, shower head, toilet, and refrigerator had to be replaced due to the old age of equipment. This was very inconvenient as the staff was not very timely in their replacement. Also, due to the old nature of the pipes in the kitchen, we consistently had thick yellow water coming out of our sink. We had to buy bottled water to drink and cook with. Cooking with the yellow water left a thick yellow ring in our pots and pans. Parking is a huge problem. They give each resident one parking pass and no guest passes. They tow every night too. So, you are basically not allowed to have friends or relatives over to visit you. Guests had to park a half a mile up the road at the gas station. Needless to say if you like foot fungus, old appliances, yellow water, and don't require sleep this place is for you!
