My roommates and I have lived at Western Pines since we started school. We have had a positive experience living here. The apartments are a good size, with lots of closet space. The only thing I don't like about them is that the apartments only have one bathroom with tub/shower, and I wish they had apartments with two showers, but other than that, we like these apartments.
We are moving out this summer, because we are all graduating, and we will miss this place. We've met a lot of friends living here. Everyone is pretty friendly (most people who live here are students). The people who work here are great. The maintenance people usually come and fix things in your apartment the same day you call the office for help. The hallways in the buildings are cleaned all the time, and I like the fact that the hallway doors are locked all the time with an intercom system. The manager is really nice to us, and she knows all the people who live here by name. She really cares about the people who live here.
I would recommend this place to anyone, but especially to freshmen, because it is a great first apartment, safe and close to school, and not too noisy. It's not too expensive, and TV and internet is free!

Caution: the manager lives here, and they don't let you have big parties.

What about the laundry facilities?

theres only one set in each building. so 8 apartments share one washer and one dryer. When its the rush time to get laundry done it can get annoying but eventually you can find some time to quickly do one load.
