Breton East offers one superior product that sets them ahead of most other complexes in the Grand Rapids area: VERY CHEAP rent.

Average rent in GR for a 2 bedroom apt.

is $980...I pay $504 for my 2-bedroom at Breton East: 950 sq ft.

w/ nice appliances, central air, and an excellent view of nature (my apt.

does not face the front).

The complex sits close to 4 mini-malls and is a 10 minute drive from Woodland Mall.

Breton East is a very functional place to live.

As a resident, I find the apartment itself very quiet.

In the hallway, one might hear someone's TV or stereo.

But once inside my unit, I hear very little noise.

While the grounds are not immaculate, I see them cutting grass and picking up litter.

During the winter, parking lots and driveways are plowed in a timely manner...something very important when living in Michigan.

Breton East is NOT Beverly Hills Estates.

If you expect luxury living at rock-bottom rental prices, then you are only fooling yourself.

Inner-city slums go for $400 a month (on avg), therefore Breton East attracts renters that might otherwise live in sub-standard housing.

If you are a college student, young/new family, or you're simply looking for a nice, quiet, affordable apartment in a decent neighborhood, Breton East will work for you.

If you are looking to rent but want something more luxurious, I would suggest a duplex, as Kentwood is filled with them.

Those rent for about $800-$1000 a month.

Note: If possible, request the "end building," as it is more secluded from the rest of the apartment complex.

Where on Earth did you get the $980 figure for an average? Let me guess... You have an interest in the complex. Having previously lived there, among drug dealers and people who will walk right into your apartment if the door is unlocked, I can tell that you have not experienced these things in "your" building. Oh, heads up, when you move out, you might want to ask for receipts for your notice, keys, and forwarding address, unless you like being sued.
