I lived her May 06 to May 07 and paid 550/mo for a 1 bedroom with a washer and dryer and I had a dog. I didnt know anything about the Lansing area since I go to MSU and have lived in East Lansing for 3 years. I didnt expect to see gatherings at all types of the night. I didnt expect to see cop cars driving around. I didnt expect to hear loud music from cars. I didnt expect a lot of things. My apartment itself was nice and spacious. I really liked the private entry because I wasnt worried about making too much noise or anything. The only thing I didnt like about it was that it was in the back. Towards the end of my stay they did put up some exterior lights on the front of the buildings for the parking lots but it didnt help me much sine I was in the back. Maintenance was very courteous. I liked the central air and the bills were not high at all. I

Heres the bad part:
On my move in day there was a bum sitting on the grass. I honestly thought it was a resident until he told my boyfriend that he liked to come over to this area since it was new and watch people move in while drinking a beer. Someone started to follow me to my door one time (not sure if it was a bad situation or not but I got in the house quickly) My dog got fleas from going outside. There were lots of electrical problems and my power shut off a few times and I was replacing light bulbs every few weeks. I got several community notices about "incidents" around the neighborhood and reminding residents to be aware of their surroundings. They even had to change the locks on the 24hr, code accessible fitness area and make it so you had to pay for a key to the fitness room.

There is an income MINIMUM and MAXIMUM so wealthy people are not allowed but poor people are. Mostly families with supplemented income or whatever.

I liked my apartment just not the area. I wouldnt reccommend it simply because I was followed when I got out of my car one time.

YOur right the washer and dryers in these apartments are great! I love that they are pet friendly and completely agree that the utility bills are very affordable! The private entry gave me a feeling of securtiy and I think the lights th4ey added were very benefical. However, I was not suprised to see the gatherings in the night, the cops drive by or the loud music from vehicles. Residents gather because they are neighbors and not strangers and cops drive by as they do any location to protect citizens, and unfortuantly some people just like there music way to loud, The pros out way the cons in a heart beat. Where else can you find individual entraces, full size washer and dryers, huge swimming pool and great fitness center for that price?

I seriously douth that the pros outweigh the cons in theis situation. The washer is great but putting up exterior lights around the front does nothing for the people who live in the back of the complex near wooded areas where anything could happen. The private entry makes you feel secure because only u can access it but it doesnt help if u cant see whats going on back there while u r trying to open ur door and its pitch black outside. I was very surprised to see the amount and types of gatherings that I did because I thought Lansing enforced noice violations and loitering tickets. You dont see that type of thing in East Lansing or Okemos/Haslett unless there is a game. These people out here just have no curteousy and I blame it on the income restrictions. Im all for affordable housing but there should be more background checks done. People with felonies live here. Thats why the cops drive around so much. Its because of the shootings and drug deals that go on. Check with the local police precint, they will definitely let you know. I have all those ameneties at the place I am staying at now in Okemos for $10 more dollars and I feel much safer about leaving for work early and coming in after dark. I still WOULD NOT recommend this place.
