Not Worth It

I lived at Briarcliff for 2 years......The first year, under AIMCO mngmt, was amzing, no problems, no nothing. NOW, this past year has been horrible. We have had mice 3 times. Not because of us, but bc of ppl who live behind us and the mice burrow through the walls! Maintenece came out and claimed they fixed the problem. I ended up having to purchase new everything because the mice had ruined everything in my kitchen! I wrote a letter asking for compensation for my cleaning supplies, and got nothing. They don't care. There is no snow removal. I got stuck IN THE PARKING LOT at least 5 times this winter. They dont plow anything until about a week later, hoping it will melt first.
Our bathtub also was leaking through the floor and it was dripping directly below to the kitchen. I called emergency maintenance (around 10pm) and he refused to come SEE the problem until the following day; unless there was "actual water dripping". I told him that i had 5 pots all over my kicthen catching the water. Needless to say, he never came out, they had to replace our entire floor because it was rotted out from improper plumbing, and we were out of a shower for 4 days. The only thing they offered us was the communal showers in the leasing office, which closed at 9.
Also, I went to turn in my 30 day notice to vacate, and the chick in the office told me it was 60 days and that I owed $545. I argued and ARGUED with the girl to look at my lease and point out to mee where it was stated that it was 60 days. After almost 30min, she finally got the lease, and I was correct; 30 days. They are all about scamming people out of money. If AIMCO was still the management, all would have been well, but i do no recommend Briarcliff. horrible staff and management and townhomes.
Oh yeah, you can also hear EVERYTHING. I heard the ppl behind us BEAT their kids.....screaming, crying, you name it. Even called protective services sometimes bc it was so bad. I could go on forever about the horribleness of this place; dog poop everytwhere, no one picks it up; potholes are horrible in the parking lot too

Check out Lakewood in Haslett---cheap 2 bdrms--around $600, much cheaper and better than Briarcliff! :)

I have also lived at briarcliff apartments for two years and everything you say is true, but I can not afford to move at this time. The maintence and grounds are horrible, and they never plow the parking lot, so I agree with everything in this review, very acurate.

This is sooo true. We are saving up to move out. The townnhome problems I could deal with because it IS old, but the management makes everything worse. The attitude and the arguing to get things done. Why pay rent if nothing gets fixed properly or in a timely fashion. My basement had sewer water for days before they would do anything. My bathtub leaked into the closet 4 times before it was replaced, and still it took months of letter writing and consulting a lawyer to get these lazy people to do anything!
