Nice place, Friendly Management, Good For Dog Owners

I moved in in July 2003 and signed a 12-month lease. Be warned that when you sign the lease, there is a notice of potential lead-based paint, etc. and asbestos in the building - if that bothers you. The community used to also have a weight restriction on pets but they have now lifted it. They still limit "aggressive" breeds though. Management is very nice and friendly.
For a one bedroom, I paid $610/month (included pet rent), which is not bad for the area. Electric and Water are not included but together, they come to under $50 per month. The bathroom has good counter space (I do not like those mini-counters some apartments have). The bedroom, living and dining room are a good size for 1-2 people. I would have liked more space in the kitchen. I had to buy a microwave cart for a place to put the microwave and some appliances.
Devonshire is close to I-69, I-96, and I-496, which works out great if you need to commute.
The grounds are kept clean and the tennis court is a welcome distraction in the summer. The gym is not bad and I have never had problems with any of the equipment. I have never used the pool but I have seen them cleaning it quite a few times.
Unfortunately, I got new neighbors recently and they would smoke (more than cigarettes) in the enclosed hallways, leave their apartment door wide open for days, and make a lot of noise even at four in the morning. I complained about it twice and management took care of it - no more problems one week later.
Besides that, never really heard any of my neighbors. You can't hear your neighbor's T.V.s unless you are in the hallways.
Overall, not a bad place to live in, especially as a student. I'm renewing my lease.
