For the price there are much better in the area. Appearance was nothing special. Manager's customer service is not at its best, and there are several quirks in the lease that could set you back quite a bit of cash if you do not adhere to them closely. The apartment had painted over 80's cabinets with chunks of trim missing and poorly patched holes. Grounds were kept mowed, but no bells and whistles. No exercise facilities on site, and the pool was outdoors only and small, and closed during the winter. Neighbors were nice enough and kept to themselves, but there was a lot of turn over. Main entrance doors were pulled off their hinges 2 times in the past months, and left duck taped and unsecured for more than a week. Entrances were supposed to be kept locked, but were left blocked open many, many times.

I find this review to be quite funny. It's poor sportmanship to complain about things that are simply public knowledge, like "no exercise facilities on site". That's absolutely correct but I chose Fair Fax precisely because it did NOT have an exercise room. I exercise via other means and didn't want to subsidize someone else's exercise habits. Don't rent at Fair Fax if you want an exercise room or a heated pool or a . . . well you get the idea. As far as all the maintenance-related statements in this review, I'd have to say most are just hooey, having no basis whatsoever from what I've seen and I've been here about 6 months now. OK, I did find an entrance open twice in 6 months. I mentioned it to office staff who promptly reminded all residents of the need for security. Every other maintenance issue I've seen or mentioned has been dealt with quickly and efficiently. Cleanliness is important at Fairfax - they have folks cleaning the carpets at least once every 2-3 weeks. If you want a clean, quiet, well maintained facility with excellent staff, office and maintenance, then take a look at Fair Fax. Reviews, like the one above and even my response, are biased. See for yourself.
