I've rented here off and on for several years.
I've found that life here is sensitive to the management-de-jour.
Many of the good ratings here trace to times when management was good.
And vice-versa.
Following their latest management change (2006), I opted to leave again - this time for good.
Judging from the near 50% vacancy rate when I left, I'm not alone in my opinion of the new management.
Runaway Bay will make a terrific first impression on you, but watch out.
Plan on finding the grounds to be very well kept and beautiful.
The staff will be exceptionally polite and helpful.
But don't believe ANYTHING they tell you about their plans to upgrade buildings, parking areas, work out facilities, swimming pool open dates, package pickup rules, etc.
And god help you if anything goes wrong w/ your apartment that requires more than a half---- fix.
They'll *never* fix it right unless you threaten to not renew your lease.
They will look and sound very slick when selling you an apartment, but beware.
Don't expect them to cut you any slack once you sign on the dotted line.
I recommend you think long and hard about your rental options before renting here.

Well said and very true. The resident manager has sealed the deal for me. I'll be out next month. Thanks for the review.
