I felt compelled to write a review in favor of Runaway Bay now that I live in another apartment community in another state. I always enjoyed my home at Runaway Bay, but now I can fully appreciate what I had there. I currently reside in three year old apartment community in VA, and the buildings aren't even in as good shape as the 20 year old buildings are a R.B. The noise level, maintenance person (there's only one in a huge apartment community), staff and grounds are all much, much worse here. R.B. was quiet, safe, clean and I always felt 'at home'. There are lots of noisy college students in my current community, but at R.B., most of the students went to Cooley Law School, and were more mature and quiet. When you live in an apartment community, you can't be a total snob and expect perfection. Nothing is perfect. I owned a home for three years and I had a lot of grief with maintenance issues, noise from neighbors, etc. No place is perfect, but if you want to live in a nice, peaceful, dog-friendly place in Lansing - R.B. is the place.
