I have been living here since July of 2003, and have been pretty satisfied so far with my stay. Since I've moved in the management has changed several times, along with the maintenance. When I moved in our leasing agent was REALLY friendly and took that extra time to get to know you personally. The guy we have now is really friendly and responsive to your needs, but hasn't really tried to know who his renters are. Course that is asking a lot since the complex is so big. The maintenance guy we have right now is really great! He actually fixes things in the same day you request them. We had a problem with the last guy who was a lazy ass and would take his jolly time to do stuff.
Keep in mind that this IS a DTN property and they are pretty strict in getting their money. I know some places are pretty flexible about when they get their rent and won't charge you, DTN will. Eventhough this is DTN, the property is really nice. The grounds are kept up, and the grass is cut on a pretty regular basis.
The apartments are all pretty nice. When I moved in they replaced all of the big appliances and counter top because it was "their time". The old resident had lived here for so long that the appliances passed their usual change over period. DON'T LIVE ON THE FIRST FLOOR!! A little while back we had some pretty heavy rains and everyone on the first floor got flooded. All DTN did to fix the problem was put some fans out to dry up the water. I live on the second floor and never had a problem. If you have plants and like the light, try to get an apartment facing Mt. Hope. Also the apartments in the back on the buildings get absolutely no breeze. It could be fifty degrees outside and it'll feel like seventy or eighty degrees in the apartment. the apartments are insulated really well. In the summer and winter my BWL bill never really went over $35.
My only gripe would have to be the laundry room. We only have one central laundry location. Only four out of the sex dryers actually dry clothes. I stopped saying anything to them about the dryers a year ago. Every now and then someone will put up a sign saying the dryers don't work, but the people who take care of the washers/dryers won't fix them. Not sure if it's DTN's fault of the laundry people. Also, it REALLY REALLY SUCKS having to take your laundry to another building in the middle of the winter. I used to think it sucked having to take my laundry down two floors, I had it good then!
The complex is really cat friendly! Almost everyone has a cat! I totally recommend the complex to anyone who is looking. Beware of apt 91 though. My ceiling squeeks...a lot...all the time. I don't really much hear it anymore, but save yourself the grief!
