I lived here for two years my junior and senior years of college. Mostly non college people here but it was affordable and it was quiet which we wanted. Nice area, close to commuter parking lot, nice neighbors. The maintenance was terrible. I had just come home from work and had cashed my paycheck since I owed a friend some money. I had placed the money in my purse and hung it in my closet and proceeded to get ready to go for a run. The maintenance man came over before I was to leave to fix my screen in my bedroom and I asked him if he could come back in 20 minutes and I would be back. We made the agreement and when I came back my scree was fixed (which only took them about 2 months to get to and ladybugs were infesting my room) but when I went to leave that night I pulled out my purse and all $700 of my money was missing! I called the police to make a report and the officer said her boyfriend had had a lot of troubles when he lived in this complex as well so she wasn't surprised. The next day I went to the office and made them aware of the incident and they said I had no proof and that's rough luck. So I changed my lock on my door and finished that year with no maintenance calls. Then when I graduated in May I was moving to Colorado for the summer and my roommate and I inquired about breaking our lease which we had until August. They wouldn't let us sublet or break our lease but if we each paid $175 they would run ads in the paper for us and it was a rerenter's fee. We took our chances and did that and kept paying rent even though neither of us were living there. I happen to come home in July to visit and drove by my apartment for old time's sake and the apartment was fully furnished and people were in it! We had just paid our rent for that place! So I went to the door and excused myself and told them my situation and inquired about when they had moved in. They said they had been in there just over a month. The next day I inquired with the front office about my apartment and when they planned on paying my roommate and myself back the rent we had been paying since there was someone already moved in. They ended up paying us our July rent back but if I had not happen to come in town we never would have known they had rerented it. I know this was lengthy but I just want to caution people about this...especially college kids and money is a little tight...this place will screw you!
