I have lived at Trappers Cove for 1.5 years. I am a single, professional working student. I am attending MSU in the evening for a masters program and working professionally full time during the day. With this being said, I don't have a lot of time for the small stuff!
The pros of living at Trappers Cove - It's fairly quiet for apartment living. If you have probs with noise, just call maintenance and he will ask the neighbors to quiet down. There is a washer and dryer included (in some apts) and it is so worth the extra charge! It's been below freezing in Lansing for the past 45 days... need I say more! Parking, heat, carpet adequate for apartment living in Lansing! I've seen much much much worse!
The cons of living at Trappers Cove - Living on the top floor (3rd) - When there is a large rain storm, the rain will come through vents in the bathroom and drip on your floor. The maintenance workers will not even pretend to care! They will just say there is nothing they can do! For the snow, when the snow/ ice started to thaw, my bedroom ceiling started leaking. I was told there was nothing they could do over the weekend! And I slept on my couch for 3 days while my bedroom carpet smelled horribly! Managers and Maintenance said the snow/ ice was so heavy that blah blah blah. So basically don't live on the 3rd floor.
I basically say, if you can avoid renting in Lansing do it! This place is all about slumlords or extremely rude apartment managers! Take your pick! Buy a condo or cross your fingers and wish for the best! It's a crap shoot in Lansing!
