I lived in dorchester west before and I had to move because the management was terrible. I just moved back in because they are under new management. Once again, they are terrible (despite the fact that they told me that things weere much different). I have a problem with mice in my apartment (which they have a problem taking care of) and my brother (who just moved in also) has tenants in his building who have roaches and now he has them. They are slow to fixing repairs but are quick to ask for their money. The only thing nice about the place is their location. They are right in front of a school, right across from a daycare, and right next to a grocery store. Besides that the place is just bad. I'm trying to get on my feet so I moved here to save money. Is it worth it' I don't think so!

Pest Control Service was called for mice on a Friday, Scheduled for the following Monday. To help during the weekend, management set up their own bait in the residents apartment along with purchasing electronic devices to rid mice off. Monday: Pest Control Service arrives, places bait through out the apartment. Indicates on the service report no mouse droppings seen (pulls out stove and refrigerator, etc). Management requests a follow up appointment despite the notes listed on the service contract. Less than 24 hours resident is calling and disappointed that mice are still seen. Indicates we are not doing everything in our power to assist. Brother Has Roaches: During conversation with this resident he/she never once indicated a brother or a problem with roaches. Cannot assist residents if matter(s) are not brought to our attention. Further Complaints not mentioned above: Pictured Living Room Window Cracked; Glass Contractor was called immeadiately and in the apartment the very next day to take measurements. The glass contractor indicates that the window will need to be special ordered due to it's size and will take seven (7) to ten (10) days for the order to be complete. The installment of this window is already scheduled. Lack of Heat: No problem in the zone valves or the thermostat. Thermostat registering at 75 degrees. Apartment is warm. Resident was offered to relocate to another apartment or another apartment community not far from Vanderbilt West. Resident's choice was to remain at Vanderbilt West because he/she likes living there. Although some of the comments on the site may seem a bit harsh, I want to invite all of you who feel that Vanderbilt West could have treated you better or that your experience could improve, to please contact the office staff. We are committed to providing extreme customer service and to exceed your expectations in a housing community. Although we are saddened by some of the items listed, we are enlightened by the possibilities to make Vanderbilt West the place for families to live in Lansing!
