I have lived in Westbury Lake since 2005, when I moved to Michigan for school. In the 3 years that I have lived here, I have had virtually no problems with my apartment or the staff. My apartment also flooded once, but it was NOT faulty drainage (a complete freak accident in the apartment upstairs - nobody's fault). Every time I have called the office for something, my call has been answered promptly. The maintenance staff is usually pretty quick about fixing problems - people need to remember that YOURS is not the only apartment they have to take care of, it's a big complex! They also looked after my apartment for 3 months when I had to go back home and take care of my mom for a summer. Also, Westbury Lake offers some amenities that other apartments either don't have or you have to pay extra to get - like covered parking (a MAJOR plus in Michigan winters!), and a washer and dryer in the apartment, and the ability to paint/decorate the apartment. All of these things are included at Westbury Lake. The grounds are clean, the common areas of the building are well-kept - at the very least, they don't smell like pot like some other complexes in town, and there isn't an overabundance of garbage littering the staircases (a la Village Green). The neighbors are on the whole pretty quiet, save a few exceptions...but everyone has their moments. Hey, we're all human. The only downfall I see with this complex is that there aren't the "community" amenities that other complexes have (no pool, no tennis courts, etc.). But if you really want to swim, the YMCA is 10 minutes away. Also, Target is 7 minutes down the road, as is the Lansing Mall, and Wal-Mart is MAYBE 5 minutes away, less if you don't get the light at Saginaw red. Horrock's is less than 2 minutes down the street, quite convenient. The only reason I'm leaving Westbury Lake is because I'm leaving Michigan. I highly recommend this complex, it's the best one I've lived in so far (and I've lived in 4 states).
