I've lived in Woodland Lakes since July 31, 2004. I was moving out of Arbor Pointe and literally running for my life. I am 62 years old and have lived in Lansing area apartments since 1970.

After the experiences I've had elsewhere in Lansing, particularly Arbor Pointe from 1998-2004, I would not be leaving Woodland Lakes except that I'm returning to my home state of Texas. And, if I move back to Michigan for any reason in the future I will most assuredly be returing to Woodland Lakes, period. I won't even bother looking elsewhere.

At least 2 of the ladies in the office live here and have children. All 3 of these ladies have organized wonderful activities for all of the kids throughout the year - at Halloween and Christmas for instance. Last Halloween they turned the workout room into a "haunted house" for the kids, hired a DJ with a kareoke (sp'), and, supplied enough food to feed an army. It was AWESOME!

They also have a "beginning of summer" pool party and ice cream social for all of the kids when they get out of school for summer vacation. On several ocassions they have been out near the entrance offering coffee, donuts or muffins to residents going to work.

This winter they put together an ice skating area on top of the hill in the grass near a terrific playground area. These ladies tried to have a winter party there for everyone with hot chocolate, etc., but this is Michigan and the wind chill was just way too cold and the party was cancelled.

The kids here have a great time in winter sliding down our big hill. It's so much fun to watch them.

As for the person who posted something to the effect that the pool wasn't bad when there weren't a lot of kids in it. You need to grow up and get a grip! The world does not revolve around selfish self-centered sounding people like you.

I've been to the pool many times in the evenings when there are families there with their kids. Yes, there's a lot of activity. That's exactly what I love about it, people! I can't swin a stroke but it never fails that the kids just are drawn to me like bees to honey. I have such a great time with them all! If you have a problem with kids might I suggest you never have any, that you buy a house, put in your own pool and live like a hermit.

Yes, there are "instances" of inconsiderate neighbors. That goes with apartment living. I would challenge any of you to name any apartment complex where you haven't experienced inconsiderate neighbors. That however, does not equate to the entire complex being noisy or full of inconsiderate residents. Come on people! It's time for a reality check!

Some of you are sounding just plain spoiled as though the entire world should be revolving around you and only you. If you really want to know what "bad" apartment living really is, I strongly urge you to move into Arbor Pointe located on Waverly Road just north of Jolly Road. And yes, I posted a very honest and very bad review for Arbor Pointe indicating that I had documentation to support my statements.
