I lived there for nearly a year and a half and my experience could not have been better. I would still be living there if my job hadn t required an out-of-state move.

On moving to Lansing from Virginia, most of the other apts I toured that would accept pets were pitiful. The others generally were old, out-dated, dingy, dark, damp, musty, poorly kept grounds, smelled like a zoo, and the grounds were of questionable safety. We toured Woodland Lakes on a whim and it was love at first sight. I chose an upstairs 2/2 apt with vaulted ceilings and a perfect extra space ( den-like ) that made a great computer and reading area.

The apt was very bright. All rooms had windows. There are a limited number of buildings that allow pets, but we never had any problems with noise or less than courteous neighbors. The layout of the apt is excellent each bedroom and bath are on opposite sides of the apt. Adjacent to the galley kitchen is a laundry area with a full sized washer & dryer (both front loading) and a big counter we used to fold our clothes with extra overhead cabinets we used as a pantry. The kitchen cabinets were more than adequate.

The apts are probably a few years old, but on moving in, the walls, appliances, carpets and bathrooms were so clean and well kept they looked new. Although we lived in a pet-friendly building, you couldn t tell that a pet had lived there before. In addition to the convenience of your own washer & dryer, the apt had a full sized dishwasher. The bedrooms were an excellent size. In the master we had a queen bed, night stands, a dresser and a swivel reading chair. There are 2 full baths with tubs. In the other bedroom we had a full-sized office desk, sofa bed, bookshelf and a dresser. Both bedrooms have walk-in closets. Overall the size of the apt is very spacious including a dining area and a bar-height pass through counter from the kitchen to the living room area. There is a sliding glass door in the living room that opens to a balcony in our case overlooking a lake and wooded area. It was beautiful!!!

Finally, the office/management staff is incredible. I guess they take after their property manager, Rene Ewing. Having lived in over a dozen apts in various states, Ms. Ewing is the nicest property manager I have dealt with. She is not only very personable but also a dedicated professional who keeps the entire complex running smoothly. She takes your requests seriously and acts on them promptly. I m amazed at her ability to manage such a large complex with such ease. Before renting elsewhere in the Lansing area, I highly recommend you check Woodland Lakes Apts first you might spare yourself a lot of aggravation and wasted time.
