Yes, the looks are deceiving. It is a nice looking place to drive into. The model apartment is nice, but just wait until you get your "real" apartment. There were dead flies, broken lights, horrible paint job, rotting shelves in the kitchen cabinets, and their maintenance motto is however it can be fixed without spending money is the way it gets fixed. We were 2 weeks from our wedding when we moved in and had a very lengthy fix up list for the management when we moved in. It was taken care of, but not really great. We just dealt with it. The carpet was in mediocre shape, but OK. Guess what, we checked OK on the list for carpet (even through there were a few stains) and just got charged $400 plus dollars to replace it after we moved out. It was in the same condition we moved into. The stains were there and we did not notice them. We are now fighting them over the charges. We had bad neighbors that we complained about and was never resolved. There was intermittent loss of hot water for hours and up to a day that was never completely fixed. The parking lot was treacherous in the snow. Your covered parking spot is a LONG walk from your building. We should have broken our lease when we could have. This place is bad news. A nightmare. We asked for a moving out checklist and were told to "just clean as well as you can and all that crap". Then we get an itemized bill for items we did not do. You need to DEMAND everything in writing from these people. We'd write complaints and ask for a response and get nothing until we called and asked for a response.Save yourself the headache and steer clear of this place.
