A Nightmare Since Day One

I want you to know, I've never had as many issues at an apartment complex as I have had at the Heights. The day I was going to sign the papers my leasing consultant did not even show. Keep in mind I had a crazy schedule and he said he would be there at 7:30 AM (even encouraged it). He then rescheduled with me that night (setting back our original move in date) to the next day because there wasn't much we could do at almost 8PM.
After I signed the papers, the problems began. The apartment was dirty and never painted. We spent a weekend cleaning the place when we got there and hardly got to unpacking. We had a leaky sink, patio door didn't lock, screens outside with holes in them, and just an overall mess. I had to call 3 times before anything happened. After I turned in the move in checklist, nothing happened. Finally after I called Corporate, stuff happened and everything was fixed within 24-48 hours (most of it).
Everytime we've called to have something fixed or even gone in and submitted a work order its either lost or they forgot to do it. My leasing consultant encouraged me to call him if there are any problems and I did. He never returned my calls back. His manager claims he's leasing consultant of the month. Last time I checked if you can't provide basic customer service how can you be leasing consultant of the month' I asked the property manager, Linda, if everyone loves him so much and for every complaint I make you receive so many complements then why would I be treated differently.
I don't have enough time to write much more but just know this. I had a noise problem as well and its been on going for almost 2 months (Feb-Apr). Its still going on. I submitted a written complaint, gone into the office and complained, and even called the police. Supposively they've sent letters to these people and talked to them. After living here since September, the regional manager is letting us leave without penalty because they would rather us leave then take care of the problem.
That person has not only violated the noise agreement but also does work for his business on the property which is strictly prohibited according to the lease.
The complex is also very overpriced and borders the ghetto. You could live in Royal Oak or Birmingham and get more for your money. We moved here because of the convenience of how close it was to our jobs.

I encountered very similar problems with them! maintenance work took at least 3 phonecalls spread over a week period! I moved out after a fire, and it required me contacting corporate to get the rest of my rent money back (after dozens of phonecalls and 2 visits to the place)...very unprofessional!

Maintenance is a joke. Great place to live if you want to have to complain every week and have nothing fixed. If they promise to have something fixed or replaced before you move in make sure that it is. Otherwise it will never get done. Exterior doors that don't close, hallways with burnt out lights, bugs dropping out of hvac vents....When is corporate going to step up and clean this dump up.
