We have lived here for about a year and the community is nice for people who live quietly because hardly anyone comes out of thier homes and the residents are mostly elderly people. I don't care for the laundry facilities in the spooky basements of each of the four buildings. They are very dark and poorly lit from the foot of the steps and through the dark hallways which havve flimsy storage cages made of cheap plywood where you can store your things. I always imagine it could be possible for anyone off the street to hide in there and mug any unassuming resident going down there to do his or her laundry. There is always an odor of cigarette smoke in the entryways of the buildings. We have lived in two different apartments here at Polo Club. The first one was at the lower level and had a leaking ceiling and a constant damp, moldy odor all over the place. During the summer, we would have infestations of large wasps burrowing in the side wall of our apartment that would somehow find thier way in through the air conditioning unit. There are other bugs that find thier way into your apartment but I believe that it is living at that ground level that causes them to creep into your home. The water many times turns a yucky color of rusty brown if not used more than a day and there is a constant smell with it that causes you to not feel too clean after a bath. The apartment uses a water system to heat the apartments which make all kinds of sounds all day and all night long. You can tune them out after a while but it can be pretty spooky when you are alone. The apartment we have now is on the third floor and it's been better living conditions only that with the heat turned off completely, we still must crack open all of our windows all hours of the day just to stay comfortable which has made us a little ill. It is a place where you can live temporarily but not really a home. This apartment complex is rated as fair.
