We lived here with our new born, I am sure that we made noise, especially having a small child, but the new tenants that mmoved above us expected absolute quiet. That is impossible with the paper thin walls and ceilings, you can almost everything from normal conversation to dishwashers runnings in other units. They pounded the ceiling so much that it traumatized our baby in hysterical fits. Our baby was extremely well behaved and cried less than any baby I have ever met. Management refused to believe the torment, we complained and they refused even more to investigate. Turns out the guy (of the couple) was very sick and his girlfriend was scared of him. Even after I had the proof I needed to remedy the situation the Beth (Manager) didn't care. we told them that we are moving out immediately if it didnt get resolved. We moved the next week, met with their attorney at the 52nd because they demanded rent. He understood what we went through and said fine, no rent for the last month. They still posted it on my credit report anyway. This is white trash central in NOVI...

Sounds like a TV drama that they are trying to sell to a network! I'm guessing that they are just as miserable where they live right now. Probably will be in the next place as well. I feel bad for these people and especially the child being brought up in such a negative environment.

we lived there as well and had something similar but not quite the same. We lived on the bottom floor and we had 2 midnight shift EMT's that lived above us. Us on the other hand had 9-5 jobs. Im not exaggerating when i say this at all - the EMT's would set their alarm clocks 3 hours before they had to get up and they had 2 alarm clocks going at the same time. Every 5 minutes they would hit snooze on both for 3 hours. To make matters worse, when they "snoozed" it, they'd slam down on it and it would sound like they were coming through the floor, or even sometimes, youd hear the alarm clock fall off the nightstand and crash into the wall. We spoke to management about it and all they told us to do is "get a fan" . We did just that, it didnt help at all. We ended up sleeping in our living room to get away from the noise and moved out less than 2 months later breaking our lease. We paid the breaking the lease fee, and we also got nailed with about 700 extra we owed because supposidly we had a bath mat that caused eroding in the bathtub and they had to repurpose it. Just for the record we never had a bath mat, and even if we did, theres no way that 2 months would have done that. I wouldnt recommend - management SUCKS
