The price is far too high for an apartment this old and run down. It took us 2 hours to fill in the move in sheet with all of the issues with the apartment. The staff also have no idea where south is as we needed a satelite dish and after we signed and the management assured us we were ok, the dish network guy said we were out of luck. We wanted to move a few items in a couple of days early over 4th july weekend and they said no way. Not helpful at all. Lots of loud and unruly kids around and also a family of skunks in the area.
I would consider breaking my lease to get out of this slum if I could afford it. I paid the same for a luxury apartment in NY and it was 1000 times better than this wreck.
There was mold in the shower, light fixture falling out of the ceiling. Spent 5 hours cleaning the kitchen and it is still not clean anough for us to feel comfortable to unpack anything. There was almost 1" of dirt on the ceiling fan blades. My son was born with lung pproblems and this apartment is drving him crazy.

Beware, this comment might have been posted by a competing apartment community in the area as there has been a rash of these. As Manager of Fountain Park, as as you can see by the other reviews, we would never put anyone in an apartment as was described in this review. We were voted Apartment Community of the Year in March by the Apartment Association of Michigan

From Floridagirl47: The good responses may also be posted by the management, which I suspect. I also have lived in Fountain Park Novi for a few years, and although the maintenance is generally very responsive and polite, the apts. are old and not very well kept up at all. They spring high rent raises on tenants and are not sensitive to tenant needs. I would also move out if I were able to right now. The rent is too high for the condition of the apt. My apt. was also not very clean when I moved in, although not at all like the one mentioned above. Very shoddy workmanship. I have had several issues with the shoddy workmanship. I will say that the maintenance people have always been very polite and respectful. When I moved in I was told the rent would only increase $10 to $15, which I corroborated with a neighbor, but this has not been so. They also said other things that have not panned out. In the past, the manager has taken care of any complaints I have had, but I think now I am being punished for those complaints. I hope not. But if they were voted Apartment Community of the Year, I would sure like to know who they knew. It is not an overall bad place, and does have good storage, but beware of the financial issues, and make SURE you read your lease carefully. They have severe penalties for breaking it. Watch out for the high utility bills, esp. heating. It is very drafty and the appliances are quite old, although in decent working condition. I have tried to be very fair in this review.
