We all know we live in Michigan and snow will always be a problem. Well living here has been a nightmare in the winter. They shovel the sidewalks when ever they feel like it and the streets get plowed 2 to 3 days after the snow fall. For a week the roads were a solid sheet of ice. Now I look out the window and see 8 inches of snow and nothing has been touched by a shovel or a plow. Its the middle of the afternoon penalty of time to get out there. People complain about it and instead of doing the right thing the management sends a cute little news letter stating that we are always looking for volunteers to shovel and if someone slips and falls it's not their responsibility. Well yes I know it's Michigan and snow happens but to do nothing for a couple of days it will be your responsibility when someone gets hurt. We have elderly and disabled people that live here that can really hurt themselves. It's just awful I have never lived in a complex that doesn't care about the residents. What do you pay rent for' The complex needs to provide safety and snow removal. Every other apartment complex I've lived in they were out early in the morning to clear the snow, as they should. Thank god there hasn't been an emergency where the Fire Dept or the Police need to come in here, they would get stuck. I wonder what the city of Novi would say about this' I would call the cooperate office to complain but I'm sure they will just send another newsletter out. We would receive that before we get the sidewalks and roads cleared.

The snow removal improved with the next big snow as they received many complaints. They were out earlier plowing. However, only the main road was cleared and salted. The other roads were very bumpy, still snow-covered and totally un-salted. Parking areas left many spaces unusable. The roads were better, but very hard on the tires and slippery. It may be that the management is too cheap to pay for salt!
