I say first year because I will definitely be renewing my lease for another. After reading the reviews posted on this site (as of last year before I moved in) I have to say that I'm not surprised that I am happy and agree with the positive opinions posted. Management staff is courteous, fixes problems promptly, and never "fixes" things that are genuinely broken, they'll replace anything at your request.
Overall, there are some negatives, but nothing to curb my stay or call the place home. Walls can be a bit thin but not enough to hear conversation, only rumbling of loud music. There are some bugs, but what else would expect from a 20 year old complex' It'd be impossible to eliminate all the bugs...this is Michigan.
Utility bills are cheap, the complex is quiet (and I'm on the edge right next to one of the main roads, can't even hear the road noise at all), but most of all the place feels safe. Even if the "gated security" is false at best, I've only seen one incident that required a police presence in my time there. It was a car accident right outside the entrance. Other than that, nothing.
You do get what you pay for here, I'll probably be springing for the vaulted cielings when my lease is up...
Oh, and they didn't give me notice of a rent increase when they asked me to renew early!

Hmmm No increase. Funny mine was quite a bit. I live by the road and its pretty noisy.
