Think twice before renting

This USED to be a wonderful property (when Marquette managed it), but Altman & Co.
has let this place go.
The worst is the lack of snow and ice removal.
Altman uses the three maintenance people to try and clear all 37 buildings - it does not work.
Right now the sidewalks in front of our building are so ice coated that we are trapped inside our apartment (this is after three calls to management yesterday, one emergency call to maintenance last night).
The CRIME rate has skyrocketed since Altman took over - cars are being stolen and vandalized at an alarming rate.
Management does not respond to basic requests for upkeep.
We are in the process of buying a house just to get away from this nightmare.
Think long and hard before you put money down on these apartments.
By the way, Marquette manages an apartment complex about a mile up the street (off of 8 Mile before Novi Road) - try them first!

Wow, I've posted many notes on here about how dissatisfied I am with Altman's snow and ice removal, as well as the quality of their maintenance (not necessarily the timeliness of general "non-winter related" maintenance), but I had no idea that cars are being stolen and vandalized. That makes me a bit nervous. I have an extra car that I'll have to move to another location soon than I had planned, I guess. I rarely drive it, but it is only a year old. Yikes! Good think I'm moving at the end of April into a house after getting married! Stupid Altman Mgt!
The only good thing about having snow on the sidewalks is that when it is fresh snow, I can see where random people have walked up my walk all the way to my door (people that were NOT me). Who are these random people? Their footprints are large, which tells me they aren't little kids. I'm not liking where this is going.....
