I was pregnant and lived on the 1st floor and someone from the leasing office saw me, and next thing, I got a letter from them saying that "get an appt 2 bedr asap", ( we saw you, you are pregnant , my husband at the time suffered a heart attack and couldn;t afford much.

Hi. What the office staff has done to you may unlawful under the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and the federal Title VIII housing statute. Contact the Michigan Department of Civil Rights @ 313-456-3700. They have investigators that also serve as liasions to HUD (Housing & Urban Development) and investigate claims of unlawful discrimination in housing on the federal agency's behalf.

very true take them to court or have HUD check them out. per ed rose and sons the proper way to handle how many occupants can be in an apartment is by heartbeats until the baby is born you only count the mothers.....trust me on this i use to work there good luck
