Pretty average experience

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I am coming up on three years in my apartment at Saddle Creek. I can report good and bad experiences while living here. I know there have been at least three maintenance supervisors during that time and the turnover rate of the staff is high. I know only one person who works in the office and she did not work there when I first moved in. I called after hours "emergency" maintenence twice for water leaks, once the water heater exploded on the third floor above me and water was leaking into my laundry room, and another time my air conditioner was leaking water into my bedroom. Both instances were responded to and fixed quickly. I also had my garbage disposal and washer replaced not more than one week after calling to report a problem. The pest control is suspect though as the exterminator only comes to the apartments twice a month but I'm not sure if this is standard for apartments. I have had problems with my air conditioner not being able to cool my place down enough in the summer and I can report unusually high electric and gas costs, upwards of 200 dollars during seasonal peaks for a 1000 sq ft place. I would also report little things that are not well put together. The towel racks in both my bathrooms have broken, as well as one toilet paper holder. A closet door has broken and the rope for the doorwall blinds came undone. My front door had a bad seal on the bottom and the lock was loose. Also a few cabinets need to be regularly tightened. There are a few stray cats and a skunk or two that occasionally visit the front of my doorwall, but I think its because my cats sit in front of the doorwall. Still though its been years I have been seeing the skunk and strays. I also can report that I can hear up two different apartments while I'm in my master bedroom/bathroom. One guys singing in the shower, and I could hear the people who lived above me going to the bathroom, which is actually pretty gross when I think about it. I enjoy having private entrances and the grounds are kept fairly clean and tidy. The walks to the dumpsters can be quite long depending on where you live. There has been roof construction going on for what seems like years now and I have found numerous staples and pieces of roofing in front of my door. Its pricey for what you get, but its in a nice area with a lot of ammenities and nice pool area so I won't say its been a bad experience, but the rent does go up every year and the price to break your lease will be gigantic. For mostly price reasons and the fact that my job moved a bit farther away than I would like to commute, I'm going to be moving out this spring.
