Do not get a ground floor apartment. I discovered, after walking around having been woken up at 5am AGAIN by the sprinkler leaking in my partially open bedroom window that most of the ground floor units have sprinklers that hit directly on the bedroom and windows. Since I can't afford to run the a/c, that means a stifling hot apartment in the summer because I can't keep the windows open. The sprinklers run at odd hours all day long. I have asked management several times to fix this, but they either can't or won't. The person who signed the apartment told me that the thru-unit desighn makes circulation of air easier. It is always stuffy in my apartment, probably mostly because I can't keep the windows open.
I would live here in a second or third floor unit. It is a nice place, with neighbors that mind their own business and very low crime. But not on the first floor - that has been a nightmare.

Even with your windows shut and air running, you still get woken up from the sound of the sprinklers hitting the windows, or when raining, the same thing from the gutter things.
