My lease will be ending shortly and I will be leaving, due in part to other obligations not in the area but also due to our neighbor situation in our building.

The apartments themselves are nice. For the price of rent, however, I would expect the building materials to be a bit better. Our apartment was renovated, but all of the new pieces in the kitchen and bathroom were very cheap and fell off or broke in a way that were caused by only normal use.

I found that maintenance was always very quick and helpful. The buildings are nicely spaced from one another and for the most part I feel like we have some privacy in our apartment. It is conveniently located to everything in Novi.

My biggest complaint regarding the apartment was not necessarily the fault of the complex itself, but I would like to mention that I have never felt as uncomfortable with my neighbors as I did here. Above us was a violent man who littered our front porch area with his cigarette butts. These were never cleaned up by any yard crew or the neighbor himself. He would audibly swear and curse at his friends for long periods of time, and I almost called the police once when it sounded as though he and a woman were in a physical confrontation with one another. In our building we also had a 24/7 drunkard who would ring random doorbells at all hours of the day and night to be let back in, and children that would misbehave and be locked out of their apartment, screaming and yelling in the hallway.

I've never had bad neighbors before, so this complex did teach me to inquire not only about the apartment but also about the neighbors, how long they have lived there, the average age of the tenants, and if any complaints have been registered within the year with any of the immediate ones in my building.
