I searched everywhere else in the Novi/Farmington Hills area before coming to Westgate VI. The old brown-colored wood on the exterior of the buildings was very unattractive, and it made me think that the inside of the apartments would be in a similar run-down state. I was wrong. These apartments are older, but they're kept in very nice shape. Additionally, they just finished putting new siding on all of the buildings. It looks very sharp. The office staff has been very friendly and helpful from the beginning. The maintenance staff has also been very friendly and their response time has been great. In fact, the managing company, Consolidated Management Inc. (CMI) has called to follow up on a couple of maintenance calls. This is in addition to follow-up calls from Westgate's front office. I'm in the investment business, and believe me, it frustrates me to rent an appartment, but I feel like I'm getting the best value in the area here at Westgate. I got a great special on my apartment (2 Bedroom - 1 Bath - Approx. 950 sq. feet) for $565 per month. Each tenant is assigned a carport as well. It's going to cost me $50 more a month if I want to renew, but that's because of the new siding and overall rental rates going up around the country. Also, I talked to one of the people I work with who also lives here (and has for two years), and his rental rate is only going to be increasing by $25 since he's lived here for more than one year. Overall, I'd say that Westgate has been a great place to live. The community is safe, the grounds are very well kept up, and the management/maintenance is great. The only complaint I have with this place is the poor insulation and inefficiency of the central air and heat. As I mentioned way up at the top, these are older buildings. I'm no expert, but I think the attics could use some new insulation. The windows are a bit drafty as well. However, I feel like these cons are not bad compared to all the the pros I listed above. qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai
