Knob Hill apartments is not concerned with swift or quality service. The maintenance staff is extremely slow!!! They do not fix problems, and there are many of them, within the same week. The complex manager cannot make a decision without authority of upper management. Parking is ok, however, they have handicapped spots right in front of some buildings, but there is no ramp to the door. Spots will be empty, but you can't park there.
They have a contract with Global so your cable has to be through them. You can get Direct TV but, the RBOC will not allow local channels to be viewed. You have to have rabbit ears to get them. Internet must be DSL. There is very low bandwidth for DSL so it is extremely slow, and expensive.
When we first wanted to see the apartments, the lady said they had ethernet connections in all of the apartments. So we signed the contract. When we moved in they said they never mentioned ethernet.
Then, they upped our rent $20 bucks if we wanted to sign another year. I then found out that our friends got to lower their rent because they wanted to stay another year. Very inconsistent.
The grounds are bad, lots of doggy crap, and nobody picks it up. There were cigarette butts everywhere.
The office staff did not communicate with each other. When we requested a maintenance problem, nothing would happen for 3-4 days. We would call in again, and the lady we spoke to did not have anything written down. It was as if we did not even call the first time. Then, we still had to wait another 5 days for the upper management to approve any repairs.
They did not clean our carpets and we had leaks all over our ceilings. The drain in our shower needed to be cleaned 5 times in a year and a half. They had to come with the "snake" and unclog it.
They would not work with you for any rent payment problems. They cashed checks on the 2nd one month, and the 11th the next. you never knew when it would be cashed. it became annoying, but if you have constant money, then don't worry about it.
If you want to live somewhere that is nice, but they treat you like crap, Knob Hill will be just fine. The apartments as a whole are nice looking, with decent appliances. However, the office staff, and DTN Management, do not care what happens to you.
I recommend that you stay away from these apartments.
