I moved into a garden level apartment and quickly learned how bad Knob Hill is. The day I was moving in it began raining pretty hard, and water started rushing in through the tops of my windows. The bedroom window frames were bent, so they wouldn't close all the way - maintenance never fixed them. The blinds in the bedroom were about 3 inches too short so people walking outside could look down into the bedroom.

The worst part is that even though they put in new carpet, I lifted up the corner in the bedroom only to find wet and flooded filth with a variety of bugs crawling around. It was like they laid the carpet over the bare ground. When I went into the office to tell them about the windows and the carpet, the girl tells me "Oh, well Okemos is built on a swamp so the garden level apartments tend to flood..." That was pretty good to know AFTER I had already moved in! I moved out ASAP and I have pictures of the floor underneath the carpet.

They also get low-quality cable tv 'dished' in from Texas or somewhere. It is horrible and is your only option. Check their parking lot sometime...notice the multiple big dishes in the back corner.

Whatever you do, do not rent a garden level apartment here...you'll be sorry.
