I would recommend staying as far away from this apartment complex as possible. I lived in Knob Hill for 3 years while attending MSU. The apartments are old. The walls are thin and they show the wear of the 30 years of college age kids that have lived in them. The plumbing is shot and my kitchen sink backed up frequently. The windows are drafty and let in a lot of cold air. My kitchen window did not close. In the winter I would actually get snow accumulation on the window sill. The neighbors below us smoked heavily outside so we were not able to have our windows open in the summer. Maintanence is a joke. They send over some 2 toothed idiot who does the bare minimum to get what you need fixed. I had to have them out 3 times to fix a running toliet. If they would have fixed it properly the first time it would have saved me (and them) a ton of grief. In the week that I was moving out maintanence was in my apartment without notice trying to get the apartment ready to rent to some other sucker. This is highly illegal and I have filed a complaint with the State. The office staff is not helpful and has a high turn over so they don't know what they are doing most of the time. The office staff lost 2 Fed-Ex packages that were delivered there in my absence and only "found" them after I threatened to call the police. I would stay away from Knob Hill at all costs. If at all possible stay away from any DTN apartments.

I agree, I despise DTN. But it is not "highly illegal" to go into your apartment. If you read your lease, it give the staff permission to enter your apartment at any time for any reason. They don't even have to give notice if they do not want to. You're the one who signed the lease and gave them permission to!
