PASS!

I am current resident here at Knob Hill and am going on my fifth year here. So why the title pass' Well the only reason I haven't moved is because it would be too much of hassle why I'm in school, since I will be graduating in the spring it would just be dumb to move right now.

Anyway, when I first moved in Knob Hill I thought it was great. Definitely worth the price of three bedroom on the top floor. Maintenance seemed to be on top of things and when I complained about my dishwasher I got a new one...along with a new fridge. Then after my second year here things started to go down hill. I started out paying $780 in rent, its grown to almost $900, but my apartment seems to be getting worse!

I have mold spots in the ceiling of the bathroom, if you push on wall hard enough you'll find that it moves because its so soft, and the floor around my toilet seems to "mushy" too. I've addressed the office and several "maintenence" men about these problem and though I see them write it down there still hasn't been a single solitary person here to fix it. My neighbors below me complain of water leaking into their apartment because of my "mushy" floor, maintenance will climb the stairs for that complaint, but when I tell they WHY its leaking they just say "we'll get someone out to take a look at it"--again it never happens. I was even threatened by one of the maintenance men that they would charge me for my neighbors belongings being ruined because of a leak. WHAT' How could that possibly be MY problem' Should I just stop using my shower' Ridiculous! I told the office about the threat but the "bimbo" that was working did absolutely nothing about it, not even an apology.

Furthermore, I've recently seen one of my new neighbors apartments. Too my surprise they have a washer and dryer in their apartment (when I moved in I was told there were no washer dryer hookups in ANY apartment) and they also have a newly renovated kitchen and bath. I'm talking NEW--new cabinets, microwave, new fridge, top-notch dishwasher, new stove, tiled walls and floor in the bath...a huge improvement from my cupboards that "knock" when you open them, don't match, old stove, and as described above a bathroom that is about to fall through the floor! Yet they are paying far LESS than I am! How does that work exactly' I'd gladly move things around in my apartment if they wanted to come in and "update"...I have been here nearly 5 years without one late payment. You'd think I might get some superior treatment' Updates' Something!

My building is relatively quiet minus the kids that play in the hallway during the day, but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the college kids that live across the courtyard from me. Their parties keep me up during the summer and when I addressed the office about that they said to call the police. Does it really have to be THAT extreme' Can't their just be a phone call made about disturbances'

Also I am not a pet owner. Although I fully understand that I live in a pet-friendly community. However, I do see signs posted that certain areas are not pet-bathroom areas and even signs in the pet areas that have "doody" stations (bags and trashcans). Thats great! Too bad no one uses them! When my neices and nephews come to visit me they are not allowed to go outside. I'm afraid of them coming back in covered in dog feces. I have honestly seen someone letting their dog urinate on the sign that says "no pets allowed in this area" there is no one around to enforce this issue. Its disgusting!

Also the grounds aren't kept up during the winter. If there is a huge downfall of snow usually there are people out in the early mornings snow blowing, but if it happens at night good luck tromping through it. Also they leave the salting up to you most of the time with big buckets of salt in each entry way. Needless to say it doens't get done adequately. I know one of the neighbors fell on his way into a building because of the ice and broke his ankle. My old neighbor and his son helped him to his car so he could go to the hospital.

In conclusion, if you'd like to do live here then do it, but I wouldn't stay longer than a year or two. There is line where the management begins to stop caring about your concerns, most likely just sees you a pest. I'm not a pest, I just want my moneys worth...$900 isn't exactly cheap!
