It's ok, but....

I have lived in Okemos Statino for two years. The building itself is decent, but not great. The carpet is well-used, the walls aren't pretty, the doors downright ugly, the stove broken, and the painting careless. All of this is OK, but not great for the price. Built-in furniture was adequate and solid. Soundproofing is non-existant. I never had a problem with parking. Guests always had a place to park, though sometimes had to walk. My biggest complaint about the staff could be said about many management companies, but was that once I let them know, in advance, that I was leaving, they were no longer willing to be helpful and were sometimes downright mean. They were also difficult to get in touch with. After staying there for 2 years I would have expected at the very least to be treated like a good customer while I was still paying rent.
Landscaping and outside maintenance has been very good, snow removal sometimes, but rarely, was slow. You can still hear the train with all doors and windows closed, but it's only intrusive during the summer when your windows are open. Neighborhood was quiet and friendly. Rent had a tendency to escalate year-to-year.
Overall was a good place to live for the money. A safe, quiet (except the train and neighbors) 2-bed for 650. Felt customer service needed significant improvement and that the carpet and stove should have been replaced.
